Hi, I'm Barbie, and I am currently based in Minneapolis, MN, but I love to travel for both business and pleasure. Rarely without my camera, anything or anyone is fare game for being photographed. I get odd looks from wait staff in restaurants for photographing my meal before eating, I frequently look like a tourist when out on the streets of downtown, and my family and cats are so tired of being photographed they run when they see my camera.

I started out photographing children at the daycare where I worked in college. Eventually I photographed weddings for a few years. I've done editorial work, photojournalism at major news events, and in recent years, I have forayed into landscapes, cityscapes, and odds and ends of daily life. My goal is to document EVERYTHING in pictures. Some images are just for my own personal scrapbooks. Others are art for my own walls as well as for sale. And then there are the images I create for my clients.

Not truly a traditional portrait artist, and not fully photojournalistic, either, I combine the two styles into my own hybrid Lifestyle Portraiture.
